Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Langley Hospice Society. As a member you will have a voice in helping to ensure the Society’s programs and services continue to meet the needs of our growing community.
The Langley Hospice Society is a registered Society and charity. It is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors which is elected annually by the Members of the Society.
Members are kept informed about the Society’s activities via newsletters, receive an invitation to the Annual General Meeting and are entitled to a copy of the Annual General Report and Financial Statements upon request. Members also have the right to vote at the Annual General Meeting, or any Special Meeting of the Membership. Membership must be taken out 60 days prior to any meeting to qualify to vote, according to the Society’s Bylaws.
Membership of supporters and volunteers ensures that those who have a stake in the Langley Hospice Society have a voice in the governance of the society. That is what it means to be a community-based organization.
